General Conditions
The Supper Club is situated on the grounds of private residential property. Although we take every care to ensure your safety there are risks associated with the possibility of slips/trips or falls. The Lavender Hen Supper Club takes no responsibility for any accidents suffered while on the property – guests are urged to wear appropriate footwear for the weather conditions prevailing at the time.
The Supper Club is not suitable for small children/infants. If you wish to include children under 12 in your party this is by prior arrangement only. Separate menu items cannot be provided for children and they will be subject to a full menu charge.
The Supper Club has heaters available but can be draughty so appropriate attire/footwear should be considered depending on anticipated weather conditions. We provide pashminas for chilly shoulders and umbrellas (to access the bathroom).
Accessibility
This is a domestic property. Access to the garden/Supper Club requires some small changes of level. Similarly, access to the bathroom also requires a large step up and the bathroom is not equipped for disabled/wheelchair access. Guests with accessibility or disability requirements are advised to check with us prior to making a booking.
Arriving/Departing
Supper Club events are planned to start at 7:30 pm (alternative start times by prior arrangement). Guests are asked to arrange to leave by midnight (mixed events) or 1 am (private events). In the event of an agreed earlier start time, the finish time will be adjusted accordingly.
Later finish times may be considered by prior arrangement – an additional charge will be made depending on the length of the extension.
Guests are asked not to arrive earlier than 10 minutes before their planned event start time to allow for last-minute set up/etc. Access to the Supper Club will not be possible prior to this time.
Parking is available on the property but is limited – we, therefore, ask that guests advise us if they need parking and how many vehicles. If capacity is exceeded we will advise you of alternative public parking areas nearby but parking on Stroude Road immediately adjacent to or opposite our property is not allowed.
Cars may be left on the property overnight subject to prior arrangement.
Guests are asked to respect that this is a residential area and to keep this in mind when leaving the Supper Club.
Food & Drink
The Lavender Hen provides a 5-course menu plus tea/coffee and filtered water.
In addition, we also provide complimentary canapes and a welcome drink to get the evening started.
Guests are responsible for bringing any other beverages i.e. sparkling/bottled water, soft drinks, wine, beer, spirits etc.
Drinks may be delivered to the Supper Club before your event subject to prior arrangement. Any unconsumed drinks should be taken away with you after the event (or can be collected at a later date by arrangement).
All guests dine from the same set menu. Allowance/alternatives will be provided for vegetarians and for any medical food intolerances/allergies. We regret we cannot provide alternatives for individual dislikes/preferences, vegans. We also do not provide halal meats.
Bookings
Enquiries for bookings should be made by phone or email.
Once made an email (to suzanne@thelavenderhen.co.uk) is required to hold/confirm your booking.
Bookings are regarded as provisional until such time as a deposit is received.
Provisional bookings may be held up until two months before the event. In the event that other enquiries are received for that date, we will contact you to ask if you still require the reservation. If you wish to continue to hold the reservation then deposits will become due immediately at which point your reservation is confirmed.
Deposits
A deposit of £20 per head is required at the time of confirmed booking.
Deposits may be refunded up until 30 days prior to the event (for private events) or 14 days prior to the event for mixed supper clubs.
After these times deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
For private events, the lead booking name is responsible for the payment of all deposit/balance payments.
Balance Payments
The full balance payment for your booking must be made by bank transfer no later than 72 hours before the event. The Lavender Hen reserves the right to cancel any bookings, including whole private events, should your full balance not be settled by this time.
Cancellation
As above, bookings for private events may be cancelled with no loss of deposit up until 30 days before the event for private events or 14 days before the event for mixed events.
For private events, a reduction in numbers in the event of sickness/other emergencies may be made up until 72 hours before the event (subject to minimum numbers being met). Any deposit paid will be offset against your final numbers/balance. After 72 hours any reduction in numbers will not be refundable.
